California - San Francisco Bay Area Reopening
Effective May 4, 2020, construction may resume within the Bay Area, subject to compliance with strict safety guidelines. These seven counties/cities (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties and the city of Berkeley, which has its own independent health department) have adopted a unified approach on shelter-in-place orders and bans on construction. Each of these counties/cities recently ordered that all construction projects may resume effective Monday, May 4, 2020. Under the new orders, all construction activities will be allowed to resume so long as projects comply with the safety protocols applicable to the project depending on its size.
