Occupational Health and Safety Statement
At Beacon, we consider people to be our most valuable asset. To ensure the preservation and advancement of our employees and the safety of others with whom we interact, the leadership team has developed the following principles with regard to safety:
1. We conduct our operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. We continually improve our occupational health and safety management system to become a benchmark company for the health and safety of our employees.
2. We believe incidents and injuries are preventable and that the ability of our team members to return home injury-free is a critical measure of our success. We strive to provide a work environment that is conducive to that success and, as such, working safely is a core value and condition of employment at Beacon.
3. We recognize that a person’s attitude toward safety is a choice. To encourage an active decision to operate safely every day, leadership looks for ways to engage employees and others in addressing risky behaviors and workplace hazards, with the goal of preventing all incidents.
4. We provide current and relevant safety training throughout our organization with the goal of improving safety and recognizing superior occupational health and safety performance.
At Beacon, individuals must work safely and diligently to remain on the team. We expect all team members to be accountable for their actions, provide feedback to others, and promptly report workplace hazards. Through these efforts, we will continually improve our performance, employee engagement, and instill a sustainable culture of safety that extends to our employee’s families, our customers, and our suppliers.
